Brittany Higgins’ Case Against Her Accused Rapist Delayed Yet Again
**This story discusses sexual assault. If this is triggering please contact 1800 RESPECT.**
Brittany Higgins' alleged rapist has yet AGAIN asked for the upcoming trial to be delayed.
Over the weekend, award winning journalist Lisa Wilkinson gave a speech at the Logies after winning 'Most Outstanding News Coverage or Public Affairs Report' for her interview with the former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins.
The lawyers representing Brittany's alleged abuser claims the speech prompted intense media attention that could affect the trial.
Chief Justice Lucy McCallum told the ACT Supreme Court that recent media publicity had prejudged the man's right to a fair trial.
"The case has accordingly attracted a level of attention in the media... that while not unprecedented is certainly extreme," says Justice McCallum, "what concerns me is that the distinction between allegation and guilt has been completely obliterated."
Drag Race Down Under Season Two Finally Has A Release Date
Drag Race Down Under is BACK BACK back again!
Season two of the series premieres July 30th and it's looking like RuPaul is back hosting the show.
Now yes many may say season one was a bit of a dud (they seriously did the queens dirty with that rush job edit and short filming time), but remember Down Under gave us probably the best reads in the history of RuPaul's Drag Race (thank you Art Simone).
I have faith the drag gods will give us a splendid season two that's longer, less rushed and hopefully less problematic queens (*cough* Scarlet Adams *cough*).
