Rightwing psychologist and author Jordan Peterson is unfortunately back in the news again.
For those unaware, Peterson is most well known for his problematic views towards gender pronouns, feminism, climate change and the apparent "masculinity crisis."
Over the years he's created a strong following among young men around the world who feel they've become "marginalised" and "demoralised" by society.
During an interview with Interview Magazine, Don't Worry Darling actress and director, Olivia Wilde, spoke about how the show's cult leader, Frank (played by Chris Pine), was inspired by Jordan Peterson.
"We based that character on this insane man, Jordan Peterson, who is this pseudo-intellectual hero to the incel community,” she says, "this guy Jordan Peterson is someone that legitimises certain aspects of [the incel] movement because he’s a former professor, he’s an author, he wears a suit, so they feel like this is a real philosophy that should be taken seriously."
Well... Peterson wasn't too thrilled with these comments and broke down in tears on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show.
He says many young men don't have a voice and continue to be labelled as "incels."
"It’s like these men, they don’t know how to make themselves attractive to women – who are very picky and good for them," he says, "... but all these men who are alienated it’s like, they’re lonesome and they don’t know what to do and everyone piles abuse on them."
He says "people have been after him for a long time" because he speaks to young men about these issues.
Wilde has yet to respond to Peterson's outburst.
