Yep, I'm going there - I'm going to tell you unwanted explicit details about my sex life.

Did you ask for it? No.

Am I going to talk about it anyway? Yes.

Because you know what - when I was a teenager navigating my way through the world of sex, porn and dating I felt like there was no one I could connect with.

I was a fat girl that loved sex.

And society taught me those two things could never coexist.

The media always depicted fat girls as un-fuckable.

Which in reality is 100% false - us fat girls are fuckable, sexy and we enjoy a good fuck.

That is why I decided to share my thoughts, feelings and concerns about sex because we are in desperate need of a plus size woman’s perspective.

So word of warning to all my relatives, people I didn't like in high school, acquaintances, strangers on the internet that enjoy mocking my fat body - you are going to read some things that may be *GASP* controversial and explicit.

So don't say I didn't warn you.

So without further ado here are some of the thoughts I have during sex as a fat girl.

1. Great so we're making out, awesome. I wonder what he's gonna grab first? It'll either be my butt or tits. I bet it'll be the tits.

2. He better not touch my hair, took me FOREVER to create this messy bun that looks effortless but really it took 20 minutes to perfect.

3. Yep I was right he grabbed my tits first. I didn't grow them for nothing.

4. Anddddddd..... the clothes come off. Thank the lord I'm wearing something that's not too hard to get out of. Yet another reason I don't wear jeans.

5. Fuck is he going to say something about my belly rolls? Surely he already knows I'm fat. Dammit why did I put that pillow on my lap to cover my belly when we were on the couch.

6. Okay awesome I don't see any shock horror on his face. He knows I'm fat. He knew this before he took my clothes off.

7. I wonder if he thinks I didn't plan for us to have sex tonight? Like dude I'm wearing matching bra and panties, everything is shaved and I'm wearing waterproof mascara.

8. Man he wants to take my bra off already. That thing cost me $70. Lingerie for fat women that isn't beige ain't cheap.

6. Oh god he's going to try and take my bra off himself. He's not going to be able to do it.

7. Annddddd.... he's still going.

8. Still going.

9. I wonder what there's to eat for dinner.

10. Ooooooh maybe I'll get Uber Eats. No but I really need to save money as rego is coming up. BUT I'll be supporting local businesses. I'll be helping the economy.

11. Maybe I'll get Guzmen Gomez.

12. Jesus christ is he still going? Okay, I'm going to have to do it myself.

13. Bloody hell that entire time he's managed to get one hook off. Dude for the duration of the time it took you to unhook one clip I planned my entire dinner.

14. Anddddd.... the condom is on and now we're fucking.

15. Anddddd... already my boob has smacked me in the face. I wonder if he saw that.

16. Oh god he's grabbed my belly roll. What the fuck? Does he like it? Is he disgusted by it? Is he trying to put it away? Does he think he can fold it like a napkin and hide it? Trust me fella I've tried and it doesn't work.

17. Okay he needs to move us into the middle of the bed 'cause I'm worried this thing is going to break.

18. Nope he's still not realising half of the bed in nearing closer and closer to the floor.

19. I think I'm going to just have to tell him we need to be in the middle of the bed.

20. Awesome, bed is saved, now I can get back to it. If the bed breaks will he think it's because I'm fat? Or will he think it's hot? And most importantly - do we keep going if it breaks or do we stop?

21. Dammit! He now wants me to be on top. Look I get it you get a great close up view of bouncing boobs but my several chins will be on display. Do you know I have several chins?

22. Meh he doesn't seem to care. I think he's just happy to be this close to boobs. Boobs are awesome.

23. Dammit now my boobs hurt from bouncing. They keep smacking my belly. They're so bloody loud when they start clapping.

24. I wonder what he'll think if I pause to put the fan on. It's bloody hot and I'm worried I'm sweating all over my clean sheets.

25. Holy shit I just realised my dog is still at the end of the bed and she is starring at me. I wonder if she knows what I'm doing. Is she judging me?

26. Dammit she won't go away.

27. I could really use some water right now. There should be mandatory water breaks during sex sessions like they have during half time.

28. I wonder if he noticed my razor burns on my inner thighs.

29. Thank the lord for waterproof mascara because it's still hot in here even with the fan now on. Damn you Australian Summer.

30. Dammit I got the worst cramp in my leg right now.

31. Would he judge me if I told him my leg is cramping in this position? Why do I worry so much? I cannot believe I spent 20 odd years of my life thinking I didn't have anxiety.

32. I wonder if he thinks I'm lazy because my favourite positions involves me laying down. I'm a pillow princess don't judge me. I didn't spend all this money on a good mattress for nothing.

33. Maybe if I raise a leg he'll see I'm putting in effort too. I may not get the gold medal but I'll at least get the participation medal.

34. Is he done yet? Ready to finish this up now. I came, I saw, I conquerred, I'm ready for this to be done, I have things to do.

35. Ugh my boobs feel so sweaty underneath. I wonder if they smell.

36. Why do guys love 69? I already struggle doing two things at once in my everyday life. Gotta love that ADHD.

37. I'm worried my butt is squishing him.

38. How am I not squishing him? I'm literally just planking right now on top of him.

39. Why is my dog still starring at me. She's definitely judging me right now.

40. Andddd..... we're done. Men are so simple - just suffocate them with an ass or a tit and they'll be cumming like there's no tomorrow.

41. Ugh so much sweat I need a shower. But bed so comfy.

42. Surprisingly I don't care that all my rolls and stretch marks are on full display. He's seen it all now.

43. Where the water at?

44. That's nice he wants to spoon and all but I stink of sweat. We're gonna stick like velcro. Slimy smelly velcro.

45. God dammit this is actually really nice. Mmmmm.... I can probably order some UberEats soon.

* Before I get some weird messages from exes or previous hookups, these thoughts are a generalisation of thoughts I have had with several partners. It's not always about you Brandon.

For the past decade I've lived my life on social media as an outspoken, fat, queer woman.

And with that (as you can imagine) I've experienced my fair share of fatphobic trolls.

Apparently being a fat person on the internet with (god forbid) OPINIONS is a sore point for some folks.

Countless times I've been tempted to remove myself from social media and stay silent when it comes to topics about fat liberation and body positivity.

But thanks to badass fat bitches like Roxane Gay and Aubrey Gordon (just to name a few) I've been able to push through the madness of social media and speak my truth.

I think we can all agree the internet can be a tough place sometimes, but having strong inspiring people on my newsfeed has done wonders for my self confidence and intellect.

It's amazing to see so many plus size babes on social media openly speak out against fatphobia - 16 year old Demi would've hated herself a whole lot less if she was aware of these courageous people as a teen.

So without further ado, here are some of my favourite badass fat activists on the internet right now.

Victoria - @fatfabfeminist

When I started putting together this list I instantly thought of Victoria the 'Fat Fab Feminist.'

I've been following her work on Instagram and Twitter for years - long before I even identified myself as a fat activist.

They are such a badass and I've learnt so much from them throughout the years.

She just has a way with words no one else on the internet seems to have - the way she articulates her arguments is still mind-blowing to me.

MahMah Tohoa Lita Tetini Timoteo - @pori.mahmah

I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with this ray of sunshine.

Not only is MahMah a badass bitch who isn't afraid to call out brands for their lack of size inclusivity, but her stories on Instagram will always leave you laughing and smiling EVERY.DAMN.DAY.

And the way she normalises fat people enjoying food on the internet with her ASMR food videos means the world to me and so many other fat bitches out there in the world.

Lacey-Jade Christie - @laceyjadechristie

Lacey-Jade Christie is my FAVE comeback queen.

Particularly on TikTok, Lacey-Jade ain't afraid to call out the fatphobic trolls and she ain't afraid to read a bitch!

Not only that but her fashion is impeccable and I need all her outfits pronto.

How does one steal an entire person's wardrobe - asking for a friend.

Roxane Gay - @roxanegay74

The legend. The icon. It's Roxane Gay of course.

I mean how could I not include her on this list?!?!

Her contribution to feminism and fat activism will be remembered for generations to come.

If you haven't already please read her New York Times bestselling books 'Bad Feminist' and 'Hunger: A Memoir Of My Body,' - they will change your life.

Raffela Mancuso - @raffela_mancuso

I've only recently discovered Raffela Mancuso and I'm already obsessed.

Firstly, anyone that's not afraid to call out thin people for taking up space in the body positive movement - I instantly adore.

Secondly, her brutally honest discussions about mental health is refreshing AF.

Finally - Raffela can we just be friends already! I adore you!

Aubrey Gordon - @yrfatfriend

Aubrey Gordon. Source: Washington Post

Okay words, what words can I use to describe my admiration and obsession with Aubrey Gordon?

Like where do I even start - her fabulous book 'What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat,' or her highly successful podcast 'Maintenance Phase,' or her many many many educational and groundbreaking articles and Twitter posts as her pseudonym 'Your Fat Friend.'

The way Aubrey articulates her arguments and stories is phenomenal.

If you're just starting to unlearn your anti-fat bias, Aubrey Gordon's work is a great starting point in dismantling your internalised fatphobia.

Jessamyn Stanley - @mynameisjessamyn

Without exaggeration Jessamyn is the Beyonce of yoga.

She is a highly accomplished author and yoga teacher that’s helped thousands of people move their bodies and combat antifatness.

Plus plus plus we cannot forget Jessamyn's BADASS naked yoga classes on OnlyFans - calling her an icon is an understatement!

April Hélène-Horton - @thebodzilla

It's been incredible to see April's platform grow over the years as she cements herself in Australia's fashion and activism landscape.

She's also used her growing platform to talk about numerous social justice issues and elevate others in the plus size community.

I cannot wait to see what's next for April in 2023!

Curve models Gabriella Halikas and Alexa Jay have gone viral on Instagram after they called out a LA nightclub for being fatphobic.

As explained in a recent video, last Wednesday the two women were lining up outside The Highlight Room.

Alexa was with a group of 15 women for a birthday party and says she was definitely the “biggest in the group.”

“So the promoter starts letting in the whole group of girls and right when it gets to me at the front the bouncer puts the rope in front looks me up and down and says, yeah, not tonight,’” says Alexa, “I wanted to make sure he wasn’t confused and he knew that I was a part of the group that he was letting in so I let him know and he looked me up and down one more time and said ‘yeah, not tonight.’”

She says at that point is was clear she was “being discriminated against because of the size of my body.”

Gabriella was also refused entry by the bouncer and without reason told “not tonight.”

She says “this has personally happened to her three other times.”

“The security guard was there and did not help,” says Gabriella, “he was a bigger guy and I looked at him and I said ‘hey you’re seeing what’s going on, you’re a bigger guy you know exactly what’s going on here, are you not going to speak up for us, are you not going to vouch for us on our behalf?”

During the now viral video, both Gabriella and Alexa spoke about their privilege being able to speak about this issue having such large platforms on social media.

Gabriella says this is the “for the girls who don’t speak up and just ignore it, for the girl that was feeling sexy and confident going out to then get publicly humiliated in front of her peers when no one else is standing up for her, for the girls recovering from eating disorders to then getting their whole confidence shattered in the moment of seconds from a man at the door who decided she wasn’t good enough.”

“I know this may sound silly and not ‘important enough’ to discuss,” says Gabriella, “but I have a platform and a responsibility to share my honest thoughts and experiences, and to speak up to the injustices that our curve and plus size community faces every single day.”

In recent days people have since taken to Yelp to express their frustration with The Highlight Room. Source: Yelp

Since posting the video many followers have shared their similar experiences being fat shamed at bars.

One user wrote, “This happened to me in NYC when I went with my skinner friend where he wanted to charge me 20 dollars to go into the club and my friend free. It’s not okay the discrimination based on how you look!!!”

Another user wrote, “This happened to me years ago. I still to this day hate going to clubs and bars because of all the times I went out with friends only to get treated like I was I was the “ugly friend” all night.”

The Hightlight Room have yet to comment on the controversy.

The comments section on their Instagram page has now been limited due to the online backlash.
